I have been hearing a lot of controversial views about Lady GaGa from the day she first hit the mainstream. From criticizing her about her fashion to her choice of topics in her songs. & how can we forget her infamous “this is for God and the gays” line? I have always been a GaGa fan simply because I adore her creativity, and her songs are always catchy (except for “Born This Way” I’m not really feeling that one).
When I first heard “Judas”, I loved it! “Judas” is definitely GAGA – unlike “Born This Way”. But after listening to the song again….again…again…and again, there is just something slightly off about it.
I am a Christian woman, but I am not completely familiar with EVERY aspect of the Bible. I did not grow up on the Bible so I am always learning new things day by day.
Recently I was reminded that Judas was the one who betrayed Jesus..
This immediately set off a red flag for me, as well as other people from what I have seen. If Judas betrayed Jesus, why are we writing songs about him and saying we love him??
But I couldn’t just judge the song without reading the lyrics first. So with the help of Metro Lyrics (http://www.metrolyrics.com) I did my own analysis of the song and I have came to two conclusions. Either A. Lady GaGa has completely lost her mind and I will pray for her. Or B. She is extremely creative and has once again cause an uproar over merely nothing.
I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind
But in the cultural sense
I just speak in future tense
Judas kiss me if offensed,
Or wear ear condom next time
But something’s pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue,
Judas is the demon I cling to
I cling to
