As many of you know, I am a HUGE Fall Out Boy fan! When I heard they were getting back together I had no choice but to get my ticket right away. In honor of the band’s return, I will take you through 5 days of Fall Out Boy leading up to their SOLD OUT concert in Columbus on May 17 for their Save Rock and Roll tour.
Day 1
Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” is the first song I ever heard from the band – like love at first sight (or first listen).
The opening line of the song is: “Am I more than you bargained for yet?” is simple, but very powerful in meaning (feel free to interpret as you see fit). The very odd video features a boy who is half man, half deer – with antlers growing out of his head. He falls in love with a girl and they become two star crossed lovers that everyone else around them is not too happy about. The girl knew he was this way, but he wondered if she could handle the ridicule that they would continue to get from society (am I more than you bargained for?). The boy then tries to cut his antlers off to seek approval from the world, but the girl stops him with the look of “I love you just the way you are.”
Then it turns out, the girls father was half man/half deer the entire time!
Like I said, very odd video. But if you listen to the lyrics, there is a lot being said.
