In the beginning of 2014, KG kicked off the year with his long awaited mixtape “Live From The Closet” (I know you’re wondering why it has taken me 3 months to write about it but can I live?).

I have asked KG numerous times, “when are you gonna drop the tape!?” and his answer was always, “When it’s ready.” I was never satisfied with this answer but now I see why he made us wait so long!

The mixtape has numerous features from other artist like ChillaK and also has 16 tracks that include a couple of free styles, too. Also, why did I not know that Sydney Omameh could sing!?

KG has never had a problem with letting us in on his personal life and he does that on mutiple tracks like “1000 Words” and “My Darlin Baby”. My favorite personal track would definitely have to be “Shout Outs to Dad” featuring AllDay; also another person who I did not know had it in him but I am very impressed!

Overall the mixtape is the KG we all know and love but on another level. It is clear that this is just the beginning of his evolution as an artist and I am excited to see what more he has in store.
