I usually don’t do food blogs because I’m not a foodie. Actually I’ve never done a food post. When I go to a restaurant I get the same thing: a cheeseburger, a salad or maybe come boneless chicken.
I went to Comfest this past Sunday and was saddened when I had high hopes of a cold alcoholic beverage at some point and was only offered beer. I don’t like beer.
So, we decided it would be the perfect time to explore the short north for some food and a drink.
When one consistent valet worker suggested we eat The Pearl, we decided to go ahead and check it out.
First off, the decor was country chic —> like this Pinterest post. We legit drank water out of mason jars and my friends cheeseburger was presented to her on a wooden plate. The lighting was very dim and intimate yet we didn’t feel uncomfortable with that. It was soothing.
I have always believed the concept of chicken and waffle was odd but I decided to give it try and it was AMAZING!
Southern fried boneless chicken served with warm blueberry sauce and honey.
Can I go back?
I had this with a bottle of JK Scrumpy’s Orchard Grape Gold, Hard Apple Cider – which I got after suggestion from a friend and a failed margarita (their margaritas are VERY strong).
After this delicious meal from a random restaurant, how could you not want to try dessert?
All the waitress said was “Snickers” and I was sold!
This Snickers pie was served with nuts, caramel and a scoop of Jeni’s!
I got this for us to share but it’s safe to say I may have eaten most of it.
Overall this restaurant was amazing and I recommend you all to go check it out.
While we couldn’t find mixed drinks at Comfest, we did find some food, fun and laughs in the short north!
