Music Monday | “Mascara” – Jazmine Sullivan

I’m not sure why, but I’ve been addicted to watching interviews from The Breakfast Club and Ebro In The Morning.

Recently I saw Jazmine Sullivan be interviewed by both morning shows and I fell in Love with her song Mascara.

This song is what I consider a parody. She’s singing about how she never leaves the house without makeup on because there’s beautiful women out there and she can’t be out done.

She starts out the song with:

“Yeah my hair and my ass fake, but so what, I get my rent paid with it.”

Essentially she’s making fun of all of the Instagram “models” who take pride in being a trophy for tangible items. This song = GENIUS.

Mascara is the perfect example as to why Her, She, & Me is needed.

I’ve always thought Jazmine Sullivan was a great singer but I must admit, watching her interviews last week made me a true fan.

Reality Show is the name of her recently released album and so far it is great! And it’s only $9.99 on iTunes. It even features artist Meek Mill which I was admittedly surprised about.

Check out the song and let me know what you think:
