I recently came across these ladies on Instagram. I was looking at some natural hair pages and I saw them and thought “WOW! Look at those fros!” I went to their page and realized, they were artist.

After doing some research I found out that they are a French-Cuban duo and are only 19 years old.

I was in awe watching their video River because it was simplistic yet, very artistic. AND, I wondered if they really had to hold their breath the entire time.

Ibeyi released a mixtape back in January and their self-titled debut album released on February 17th.

Since I am late to this party I will check out the mixtape and then purchase the album – assuming it’s as great as this song I heard. Maybe I’ll be able to share my thoughts on the next Music Monday!
