Music Monday | “2 On” – Tinashe

So, I have been obsessed with this song, “2 On” by Tinashe, a singer out of Los Angeles. She has been on the scene for a few years now but her recent hit with SchoolBoy Q has began to take flight and give her some major exposure.

Apparently being “2 On” means being turnt up and faded in the club.

“I turned 21 this year, so it is officially time to hit the club scene and go in!! We are popping bottles, rolling up and getting “2 on” (which basically means getting a little too hype, or a little too buzzed, or just feeling a little TOO good!)

I wanted to write a song that was dedicated to being young and having fun, and also had a West Coast, LA swag.”Tinashe via RapGenius.

I love the song and it makes me want to dance instantly! Check it out and let me know what you think!

Music Monday – Live From the Closet

I have written about KG multiple times so you should be familiar with him. If not, take a look at my past post titled “Keep Grinding” is the Motto and Music Monday | “We Want More” – KG.

In the beginning of 2014, KG kicked off the year with his long awaited mixtape “Live From The Closet” (I know you’re wondering why it has taken me 3 months to write about it but can I live?).

I have asked KG numerous times, “when are you gonna drop the tape!?” and his answer was always, “When it’s ready.” I was never satisfied with this answer but now I see why he made us wait so long!

The mixtape has numerous features from other artist like ChillaK and also has 16 tracks that include a couple of free styles, too. Also, why did I not know that Sydney Omameh could sing!?

KG has never had a problem with letting us in on his personal life and he does that on mutiple tracks like “1000 Words” and “My Darlin Baby”. My favorite personal track would definitely have to be “Shout Outs to Dad” featuring AllDay; also another person who I did not know had it in him but I am very impressed!

Overall the mixtape is the KG we all know and love but on another level. It is clear that this is just the beginning of his evolution as an artist and I am excited to see what more he has in store.

You can download the mixtape at DatPiff for the free using this link: Live From the Closet

Download the tape ASAPINGTON! You will not be disappointed.
