3 Steps to Personalize Emails

If you're not currently personalizing every email campaign you send out, you should.

Why?

Personalized emails have a better chance of making it into a subscriber's main inbox vs the "other" inbox. Plus, it's a simple gesture that'll make your subscribers feel like you took the time to call them out by name.

If you're not currently doing this, here's how to get started:

Step 1

Require subscribers to give their first name when they sign up for your email list.

Step 2

Add your subscribers' first names to the email subject line when possible.

Step 3

Always open the email with your subscribers' first names. (Example: "Hello, Tonnisha!", "Guess what, Tonnisha!?", "Tonnisha, you won't believe what I'm about to share with you.")

Don't currently have first names? Create an email campaign for those subscribers and ask them to update their preferences. You can also create conditional tags such as "Friend", or "Hey there!" to replace a first name.
